JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY SUMMARY:
A qualified Refrigeration Technician for Seaboard Foods must be able to perform timely repairs while maintaining safety awareness, and provide accurate feedback to his/her supervisor about the equipment in his/her assigned work area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES:
* Have thorough knowledge and working understating of an industrial ammonia refrigeration system.
* Must be able to identify and repair and put back into service all refrigeration compressors, air compressors, refrigeration units, heat exchanges and boilers.
* Have basic electrical understanding.
* Be able to work overhead, off of a ladder of scaffolding in high areas.
* Must be able to stoop or bend to work below knee level.
* Be able to take directions and or work without supervision
* Have knowledge of electrical theory in analog, digital circuits, communication, computers, ohms law, and instrumentation.
* Knowledge of all mechanical powered sources; hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.
Will perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPEREIENCE:
High School Diploma or Equivalentis desired. Technical skills are a plus. Ability to acquire knowledge of all applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to assigned work area.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers is necessary. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Basic math skills are essential.
Must follow all safety requirements such as: Lock Out/ Tag Out, fall protection, confide space, etc., and must wear all equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses and ear plugs.
Employee needs to have the ability to recognize equipment problems before they cause actual machine down time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about the facility. The employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly use hand to finger dexterity, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with both hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee will carry a tool pouch weighing up to 60 pounds. The employee must be able to stand and walk on concrete 12 or more hours per day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet and/or humid, extreme heat and cold conditions, and fumes or airborne particles.
Must be able to work in cold and damp environment with temperatures ranging from 28 to 48 degrees. Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment with temperatures above 100 degrees.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and /while general as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
Currently the maintenance department is working four days on and three days off. The workday consists of a twelve-hour shift.
