20% of the responsibilities includes developing, coordinating and supervising day to day clinical wound care operations to assure smooth, efficient functioning and the delivery of quality health care services. These responsibilities include coordinating patient care and coverage for inpatient wound care by the wound care team and management of any PRN staff schedules and any administrative duties necessary for effective departmental operations. Acts as a clinical resource for the department/facility and assures ongoing education of patients and staff (including working with Education to ensure education of nursing staff). Assists with coordinating and participates in quality improvement activities, bed management and risk reduction/management in regard to wound care prevention and care. Assists with budgeting and assuring the department operates within budgetary guidelines. Assumes additional administrative responsibilities as assigned by Director/Manager.

80% of the responsibilities involve delivery of patient care services: continuously evaluates, develops a treatment plan, and conducts appropriate patient care management to meet the individual needs of medically referred wound care patients in an efficient, productive manner and within the guidelines of their respective nursing practice acts and professional associations' standards for practice and code of ethics. To maintain accurate, current records on all patients according to the department's policies and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To uphold the standards of the department and hospital by dealing with patients, visitors, associates and other medical professionals in a respectful, courteous manner.

1. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
a. TX RN license or RN Compact State License
b. BLS (AHA) certification
c. Certification in Wound Care (WCS or CWONC) within 2 hear of hire
a. BSN required.
b. MSN preferred
a. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with at least 1 of those years including Wound Care experience
