Position Summary:

Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Director, the Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for performing various functions within the Revenue Cycle Department that leads to full understanding of the revenue cycle processes at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) and continuous improvement of these processes, data entry, and revenue control.

Primary responsibilities to include acting as the liaison between the hospital revenue cycle functions and the

Consolidated Business Office. Primary responsibilities also include, but are not limited to facilitating timely and accurate collection and verification of patient demographic and insurance information for the patients seen at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, through interdepartmental collaboration to assure patients timely access to care. This position works closely with JHHS Patient Financial Services, JHHS Case Mix and JHHS Regulatory Compliance, JHM Office of Managed Care which are all located off-site and provide certain back-office business functions for Johns Hopkins. In addition, the position works with many departments on the Johns Hopkins Hospital campus involved in patient care or a patient s access to care. This would include exploring, proposing, and implementing operational, software and technical solutions for workflow improvement. Work requires internal contacts with all departments with both patient and revenue responsibilities and coordination of financial results with the other departments in JHH and JHHS.

Competencies:

Education:

Requires a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in Hospital Administration, Business

Administration, or Finance. Experience beyond the work experience requirement may be substituted for the degree on 2 years of experience for 1 year of education basis .i.e. 8 years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical reports, and to read and analyze financial reports.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office.

* Requires strong communication skills to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing with peers, superiors, payers, physicians, ancillary departments, etc.

* Demonstrate proficiency in detail oriented tasks that affect the overall Health System

Work Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant hospital access, accounts receivables or other revenue cycle experience.

Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift (8:00a - 4:30p)

Exempt, Pay Grade: NH

Work Location: JH, 600 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287

Work Condition: Works in normal office environment where there is little discomfort to due to the extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like
