PRIMARY PURPOSE: Fab 25 Wafer Fab Engineering Training Program offers engineering graduates an opportunity to rotate through the three process modules (Photo/Etch, Thin Films/CMP, and Diffusion/Implant) or rotate through Product Engineering/Contamination Free Manufacturing departments during their first year at Cypress Semiconductor. This allows new graduates the opportunity to gain experience in, and exposure to, all areas of product & process and equipment technology, including wafer processing, that will enhance their overall experience before selecting a career path. SKILLS
Achieve the following general skill learning objectives during the first year: - a. Become oriented to Fab 25 and its culture. - b. Gain key communication skills needed for the fab environment. - c. Understand and practice clean room protocol techniques. - d. Gain sufficient knowledge in automated manufacturing systems - e. Understand SPC and DOE techniques. - f. Gain and understanding of the CMOS process overview.
Achieve the following learning objectives during each process module rotation. - a. Be able to operate assigned major piece of process equipment and associated measurement equipment. - b. Utilize SPC techniques to disposition wafers at each critical process step. - c. Gain a working knowledge of each process area including integration projects. - d. Accomplish tasks as assigned in each process module. Perform and learn the duties of the Manufacturing Engineer.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Implements process solutions through analysis of data using statistically sound methods. Solves basic technological problems in a timely manner such that schedules (production or development) are maintained. Reaches consensus among all appropriate groups before implementing process change.
DECISION MAKING: Dispositions lots in a timely manner using all available sources of information. Carefully documents all lot dispositions by use of decision records or other appropriate documentation. Uses statistical process control techniques to reach sound decisions.
Qualification and Course Requirements
* BS Degree with emphasis on Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanomaterials/Nanofabrication, Chemistry, Physics.
* Basic education and understanding of statistics with ability to analyze large data sets. NOTE
