GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE/JOB POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Nokia is investing in product development and solutions for the Cable MSO Market Solutions include IP Routing and Optics. For this opportunity we are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer that has experience with selling IP products and solutions into Cable/MSO accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS:
Individual must have a strong passion for developing long term customer partnerships while meeting short term targets in a highly competitive marketplace.
Must understand, anticipate, and articulate customer needs and work with the business unit to develop solutions to meet those needs. Create solutions, network design, perform test and evaluation and demonstrations for the customer.
Works in tandem with the account manager to set the overall sales strategy and value proposition to the specific customer needs. Has expert knowledge of the customer network technology.
Influences and impacts customer s buying decision. Works with customer s engineers to gain advanced insight into future network architectural changes. * Presents and discusses with the customer the proposed solutions.
Provides pre-sales technical support and technical expertise to solve customer s business issues.
Primary responsibility is supporting customer location in Mt Laurel, NJ with up to 50% travel to regional sites.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Deep understanding of the Cable MSO market, both from an operator and from a competitive vendor perspective.
At least 10 Years experience with IP network planning, deploying, commissioning, managing and troubleshooting routers and data-networking equipment, and the issues surrounding the management and usability of such products.
Advanced knowledge of IP Networking, Routing and Switching.
Experience initiating, developing and sustaining customer relationships.
Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* Good interpersonal and presentation and writing skills.
* Strong hands-on technical knowledge for lab evaluation and testing.
