JOB SUMMARY


CBRE Global Finance is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to drive the annual budgeting process and oversee the development and maintenance of financial budgets and forecasting models. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Finance, the Senior Director of FP&A will lead the preparation of executive-level and Board of Director presentations and management reporting. Key business partners will include the following: Global and operating segment CEOs and CFOs, CAO, VP of Financial Systems, and other line-of-business executives.

This role is based in Dallas and will require travel to El Segundo, CA in the first 6-9 months as the Global FP&A group relocates from California to Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Owns and leads the Global FP&A function for the company, managing a team of ~10 finance professionals. Directs staff in preparation of results presentation to senior finance management and business leaders. Presents results to senior business leaders.

Oversees budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes as well as standard management reporting. Manages the operating budget for G&A and allocated expenses.

Serves as a strategic business partner through a combination of financial expertise and understanding of business drivers, challenges, and opportunities. Provide an objective view on the business to ensure decisions are fact-based and analytically sound.

Builds strong cross-functional relationships with business groups and their leaders across the enterprise.

Defines and directs special projects to provide financial KPIs and insights to support management decisions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with CBRE's values.

Manages the planning, organization, and forecasting functions for Global FP&A.

Approves recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Leads and supports staff in team selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Builds and maintains employee engagement.

Experience with Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics and other software and financial systems is desired, including HFM Consolidation and PeopleSoft Financials.

Comfortable leveraging disparate data resources, ERP systems, and BI tools to build financial models and compelling presentations. Interest in leveraging new technologies and advanced techniques to assist with developing business insight.

Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams. Strong work ethic and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE


Prior work experience in FP&A in a global, Fortune 500 organization is preferred. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and expertise in the following: persuasion, negotiation, facilitation and meeting management, and oral presentations.

In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles with broad depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) concepts.



EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a business-related field.











Minimum ten (10) years of experience in financial planning, analysis, strategic planning or equivalent required including at least five (5) years in a management role preferred .


CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES


CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience).


COMMUNICATION SKILLS


Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, business people and management. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to effectively interact with management, employees, auditors, etc. and respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports and manuals using distinctive style. Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with business partners, key employees, top management, and client groups on various projects.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE


Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts. SEC reporting experience desired (depending on the specific finance role).


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES


Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired (particularly HFM Consolidation, PeopleSoft Financials and Cognos Planning). Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful. Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams. Strong work ethic and adaptable.
