POSITION TITLE: Senior Retail Credit Officer
BUSINESS UNIT: Retail Lending
REPORTS TO: Chief Consumer Credit Officer
This position is primarily responsible for the credit adjudication of ALL retail loan applications which includes direct lending, small business lending, Private Bank lending and the higher dollar mortgage loans to individuals with highly complex income sources. The incumbent is responsible for application system administration, the integration of new productions systems as it relates to retail lending and automation. The incumbent serves as the Chief Consumer Credit Officer in his/her absence.
May be asked to manage a team of reporting analysts to create production reports across the retail product set. Develops and manages a team of analysts responsible for production reporting for credit administration.
Analyzes financial information of a complex and sophisticated nature to evaluate applicant capacity and creditworthiness in order to generate higher dollar loan assets meeting Bank requirements within a prescribed credit authority and exercises a substantial degree of judgement in decisioning credits of a higher dollar, more complex nature.
Participates in a variety of credit-related committees and carries a loan authority at the higher levels of the organization. Monitors assigned credit portfolios for appropriate administrative controls.
Collaborates with department heads, branch and commercial lenders, the Private Banking executive and Mortgage Banking executive on more difficult financial transactions in order to reach an appropriate balance of risk control and asset growth.
Exercises proficiency in multiple data systems and maintains a high level of expertise in the areas of regulatory compliance, cash flow analysis, credit policy and risk management across a broad loan product line.
Coordinates and develops automation strategies to streamline the application processes within the limits of credit policy and implements those strategies into either new or existing operating systems for efficient workflows.
Assists in the training of direct underwriters in the analysis of financial statements and tax returns and manages them to the bank's anticipated results.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Experience in credit underwriting or administration with exposure to consumer, small business, private banking or commercial small business clientele, accounting or cash flow analysis and regulatory compliance.
