Working as an engineer at Signify is dynamic. Being part of the global Philips Hue team, you ll be working for the world s leading smart home lighting system, which is changing the way people interact and experience lighting. The Hue ecosystem is growing rapidly through new lights, luminaires, sensors, switches, and exciting new use-cases. In our team, we build on this by adding partnerships with other leading tech companies in the IoT space, and by developing new innovations such as our recently launched Hue Sync Box.

We re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who ll be responsible for building applications that take Philips Hue beyond lighting, into areas like voice control, entertainment, well being and security. You ll be part of the Philips Hue engineering team in Palo Alto, California. This is a small satellite site with large responsibilities to develop and maintain Philips Hue partnership integrations and Hue Entertainment products. So teamwork and versatility to tackle a wide variety of problems must be in your DNA.



Design, build, and ship software that integrates smart lighting with domains such as voice control and entertainment.

Work out the system design for features that connect cloud, embedded, and mobile components.

Set up and maintain the technical relationship with partners to jointly optimize our product experience.

Support other functions like QA and product/partnership managers as the technical expert.

Perform data analytics, analyze issues, identify improvement opportunities, and generally take product ownership.



A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Excellent software engineering skills, with a proven track record in at least one of embedded, cloud or mobile application development, and the enthusiasm for working across those domains to create end-to-end solutions.

Experience with web technologies and networking protocols such as RESTful APIs, OAUTH, HTTP, MQTT, TLS, mDNS, TCP/UDP, ZigBee, BLE.

Effective communication skills and the flexibility required to closely collaborate with partners and overseas colleagues.
