Position Summary:


The Senior Systems Administrator is a strong, self-motivated individual to support the operation and sustainment of the 315 Training Squadron (TRS) system administration of intelligence programs, applications, and operations for technical training. The primary responsibility is to provide system administration, hardware and software support, and life cycle support and maintenance on Global Command and Control System (GCCS)-I3 server suite and client machines to include, but not limited to: assistance, as required, to support Targeting application and software functions with the Joint Targeting Toolkit (JTT) and Modernized Integrated Data Base (MIDB). Provide primary management for LMS and IMI delivery systems and applications; maintain LMS webserver and IMI courseware received from 17 TRSS personnel create LMS accounts and provide needed access permissions, ensure webserver administrators update/patch webserver, oversee all LMS duties and ensure system uptime. Assist designated individuals in building, testing, capturing and deploying system baselines and images. This includes the Targeting Application Workstation spiral load received from the PMO. Assist designated individuals in the management of backup and restore functionality on all intelligence training applications and systems; administer a storage array appliance to ensure data integrity and availability. The successful candidate will work both as a member of a team and individually to provide mission critical support to ensure GCCS I-3 is operational and available to support mission requirements.








Primary Duties/Responsibilities:



- Maintain user account or class creation log to ensure users have the correct access.

- Provide Systems Administration in support of the Air Force system/networks.

- Modify security groups, set permissions, and create shared and personal user folders.

- Assist with quality control efforts to maintain customer satisfaction.

- Have an understanding of military operations, organizations, and operational information requirements.

- Collaborate with managers, network engineers, team members, and customer on solutions and issues.

- Assist designated individuals in ensuring 315 TRS data is properly maintained, backed up, and the ability to restore from backups is available.

- Operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes are applied.

- Maintain update/patch log; annotate date update/patch was received and installed.

- Communicate with customer to ensure required access.

- Provide notification of account creation will be received from SIPRNet administrators.

- Communicate with Government stakeholders for software upgrades, maintain proper baseline configurations for each master image.

- Maintain a complete GCCS-I3 server suite and applications on the Targeting Application Workstations (TAW) to include system administration, software support, life cycle support and hardware support.

- Maintain backup/restore log; annotate date/time/reason for both backup and restore functions.



Skills Required:





Mandatory:



- Require a Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in a field applicable to this position (e.g., information systems, computer science, math, or engineering).

- Require DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, certification for IAT Level II. Security +CE or higher.

- Must have active Top Secret Security Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (SCI).

- Minimum of five years experience in the Information Technology (IT) field; experience in Intelligence training applications is preferred.

- Knowledge of military IT environment.

- Experience or knowledge with Active Directory and LDAP.

- Experience and strong working knowledge of SQL Server (e.g., Running Stored Procedures, managing maintenance plans, DB restores/backups).

- Understands network architecture (knowledge, HTTP, TCP/IP, web servers, preferably IIS).

- Strong understanding of relevant technologies and industry standards.

- Experience in installing enterprise server software and performing operational tests.

- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.

- Individual must have high level of phone etiquette, integrity and professionalism.

- Exceptional problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications





Desirable:



- Familiarity/Experience with working in a high-security environment.
