As a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and growing the capabilities and services provided by the Plastics Extrusion department, primarily with etched PTFE liners. This will be a fast-paced role where we will design, order, and qualify tooling and capital equipment related to PTFE extrusion. You will also work with Operations and R&D customers to understand design criteria in order to optimize quality and maximize throughput. RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and grow new technology of PTFE extrusion
Procure & qualify capital equipment, tooling, and fixtures for manufacturing
Tooling & process design and documentation
Perform process/manufacturing risk analysis and coordinate with manufacturing and quality to eliminate or mitigate risk
Perform data mining and statistical analysis to recognize trends and drive continuous improvement of production processes
Plans, organizes, and manages related projects and staff as appropriate
Train, mentor, and provide direction to Operators, Technicians, and junior engineers.
Supports thermoplastic extrusion as needed (Plymouth) WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering or other related fields.
1-5yrs work experience (minimum) in the medical device industry (ISO 13485)
IQ/OQ/PQ experience required
Tooling design with CAD experience required
Extrusion/Injection molding/related experience preferred
Medical device (catheter) experience preferred COMPETENCIES
