The Partners HealthCare accounting internship will offer the intern exposure to the monthly financial close process as well as the finance committee board reporting, statistical calculations for disclosure documents, assistance with data compilation and reporting, reconciliations and requirements related to Research and federal compliance. The intern will alternate through the department. Each rotation will give the intern exposure to a different segment of the department and will provide the intern an opportunity to work under the direction of various managers. A senior manager will serve as point person for the intern to ensure smooth transitions between projects.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Potential projects within the department rotation may include:
General ledger account/sub recipient reconciliations
Spreadsheet development for monthly financial analysis
Assistance in establishing and uploading monthly/annual task functions by unit
Redesign and streamline of current finance board reporting
Assistance with development of financial statistics required for disclosure reporting
Strong undergraduate Accounting majors are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidates will have experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ideal candidates will be proactive self-starters who have an ability to work independently and in teams.
Strong written and verbal skills are essential.
