JLL is currently seeking a Vice President to join our Public Institutions group in the western region. The person can be located in either our Los Angeles, San Francisco or Denver office. The position requires someone with proven real estate and sales skills, who has the ability to immediately take a lead role in business development and in advisory on major real estate projects in the western U.S.

About Public Institutions: Jones Lang LaSalle s Public Institutions group ( PI ) provides a wide range of real estate services to public agencies and higher education. We identify and implement strategies that allow public sector organizations to fully leverage their real property in close alignment with their organizational missions. Our west coast practice has grown rapidly over the past decade and is an industry leader in providing complex development advisory services to public agencies and higher education clients, with a specialty in public private partnerships.

What this job involves:

Being a trailblazer and growing market share
In this role, you ll be expected to effectively pursue business development opportunities, grow our team s brand and leverage existing JLL office resources to increase our presence and business within the market. You will be responsible for marketing and selling a wide range of real estate services, actively managing existing client relationships, leading client engagements, identifying areas for growth and using JLL s platform and capabilities to sell and deliver an integrated service approach. As a Vice President, you ll be responsible for leveraging JLL s diversified platform of experts to lead teams in the provision of a wide range of real estate advisory services, including feasibility analysis, development advisory, P3 structuring, portfolio strategy, brokerage services, solicitation development, transaction management and execution, and real estate operations and maintenance.

Having the track-record and know-how
You will need to build-upon a successful track record of sales to drive new growth and market share by developing and delivering marketing and business development plans, developing strategic relationships with other JLL business units and professionals in western offices, assessing and pursuing client leads, leading sales pitches and presentations, and executing on new business. In this role, you ll also need to have the industry experience required to manage client delivery and advisory. This work may include: coordination and oversight of work performed by other JLL business units and third-party subcontracted service providers, preparation of development opportunity solicitation and marketing documents, comprehensive financial analysis and development feasibility services, technical review and analysis of legal documents, financial reports, and operating plans, deal negotiations and transaction management.

Being in the forefront
You ll act as one of the west coast PI group s sales leads and as a subject matter expert in delivering advisory services. You ll be expected to contribute as a key member of client facing teams to grow business, develop, implement and manage projects that vary greatly in subject and complexity. The west coast PI practice group s areas of expertise include:
Development advisory and oversight for large-scale, complex real estate development
Signature land sales/monetization in major urban markets
Public-private partnership structuring
Real estate / portfolio strategy
Highest and best use studies
Financial and strategic feasibility analysis
Analysis of financing and ownership structures
Negotiations and transaction services

A Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate or related field; MBA/master s in real estate preferred. At least 7+ years experience in commercial real estate. Proven leadership and experience in sales and business development and complex real estate advisory assignments are highly valuable.

Excellent communication skills both written and spoken with strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and partner with JLL professionals from various business lines and internal and client leadership
A desire to directly contribute to growth and differentiation of a team by developing industry leading capabilities and thought leadership through authoring articles and speaking at various industry forums and JLL client events
Strong desire to work as a member of a diverse, supportive and talented team
Ability to travel up to 35% of time in PI s western territory
